Mi Antojito Bakery & Restaurant is a welcoming spot in Springfield’s Walnut Street neighborhood, known for serving up authentic Puerto Rican flavors in a casual, homey setting. This full-service restaurant and bakery offers a blend of hearty meals and fresh pastries that appeal to locals looking for a satisfying taste of the island’s culinary tradition.

The space itself has a comfortable, somewhat intimate feel. It’s well lit during the day with warm natural light creating a peaceful environment—a perfect pause for anyone seeking a relaxed midmorning break or a leisurely lunch. Seating is ample, suitable for both solo diners and groups, and the staff adds to the friendly atmosphere that encourages guests to linger over their plates.

The menu highlights classic Puerto Rican comfort food with dishes like pernil asado (roasted pork tenderloin) paired with seasoned yellow rice and pigeon peas, pollo guisado (chicken stew), and arroz con guandules. Alongside these, you’ll find an inviting selection of appetizers including tostones, alcapurrias, and empanadillas in traditional flavors like chicken, beef, or pizza. For breakfast or anytime cravings, their sandwiches filled with ham, egg, and cheese or mortadella offer generous portions that keep the spirit of Puerto Rican home cooking alive. The bakery side complements the meal nicely with sweet cheese cakes and glazed donuts providing a familiar sweet finish.

This place works best for those craving genuine Puerto Rican soul food without the pretense, especially locals or visitors who appreciate straightforward dishes made with care. Lunchtime or early evenings seem ideal for enjoying the full menu and the calm vibe, while mornings are good for sampling fresh bakery treats and breakfast staples. The atmosphere, while cozy, tends to lean toward a quieter, more subdued lighting inside but maintains a warm and inviting character through attentive service and the steady flow of community patrons.

Overall, Mi Antojito feels like a neighborhood anchor where the straightforward authenticity of Puerto Rican cuisine takes center stage. It suits anyone looking for a reliable, no-fuss meal that connects them to traditional tastes and a sense of local familiarity in Springfield.

Mi Antojito is the kind of place that feels like it wants you there. The interior is warm, well-lit, and inviting—cozy yet open, with plenty of seating to accommodate both individuals and groups. I came in mid-morning and chose to sit alone, just to soak in the golden light and the friendly, welcoming faces of the staff. It felt peaceful and safe, like a moment of stillness in a busy world. The food? It tasted like something my mother would make—if my mother had the magic touch of feeding not just one person, but a whole community. It was plentiful, delicious, and almost too beautiful to eat. The home-cooked appearance stirred something childlike in me, filling me with warmth and wonder even before I took the first bite. And every bite after that lived up to the promise. I believe this is a Puerto Rican restaurant, and if you speak Spanish, you’ll feel especially at home. But even without it, the grace, humility, and quiet joy of the people here speak volumes. There's a peaceful goodness in the way they serve you—genuine, grounded, and full of heart. Thank you, Mi Antojito, for making my day feel brighter, fuller, and just a little more like home.

Food was amazing and fresh (we went in the morning), very fulfilling and great portions for the price ($13.99 for the plate). The atmosphere was a bit dark inside but there's sufficient seating inside and staff was incredibly nice!
